On the occasion of the Nike “On Air” contest organized by the American brand, independent designers had the opportunity to reinvent iconic models. One of the winners was able to present their own interpretation of the iconic design by Christian Tressler. To craft this Nike Air Max 97, Gwang Shin drew inspiration from the city of Seoul. More specifically, from the neon signs that flood the city with light at night. This model features a black leather base, complemented by several colorful waves. They pick up the tones of the national flag. In terms of details, there are two-tone round laces, an oversized swoosh on the quarter panel, as well as the “Seoul” inscription placed on the branding of the tongue and the insoles.
